About me

Hi, I am Charlotte, welcome to my website, I am a qualified counsellor. I offer counselling sessions to adults aged 18+ in person or online via Zoom. I am based at The Wellington Centre, Hastings, East Sussex on a Monday and Thursday.

I have completed four years of Transactional Analysis counselling and psychotherapy training and have obtained a Diploma in Counselling. I have recently completed a certificate in Trauma Informed Practice to support safety in the therapeutic process and to enable the promotion of health and healing.

I currently work in private practice and with Anxiety UK. My previous counselling experience includes working therapeutically within East Sussex Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service and East Sussex NHS Perinatal Mental Health Service. I am able to provide a supportive and confidential environment. My approach is open and warm.

What is counselling and how can it help?

  • Each session is 50 minutes long on a regular day at the same time, the number of sessions offered are based on need and are reviewed regularly
  • People seek counselling for many different and individual reasons including wanting to understand themselves better, improve their situation and change something about their life
  • Counselling can help to identify patterns of behaviour that are repetitive and leave us feeling stuck, shorter term counselling can help address current issues and longer term it can help to explore issues on a deeper level to inform and bring about change
  • Counselling allows for a space to talk about ourselves without judgement and it can empower you to make decisions about your wellbeing

Transactional Analysis Counselling

Berne’s philosophical beliefs that underpins TA practice is:

  • Everyone is OK, each person has importance and validity
  • Everyone has the capacity to think and influence their life by the decisions they make
  • We have capacity for change, people have choices and can decide their destiny

TA has become a widely respected tool in the counselling and psychotherapy field and is being used to foster working relationships within education and business fields

TA concepts are simple to learn, are effective and can be used collaboratively with other therapy models such as Person – Centred, Gestalt, Humanistic and CBT
