About me

Hello, I’m Charlotte and welcome to my website.

The name Ripple Counselling originates from the idea that our experiences can have a ripple effect throughout our lives. Counselling and psychotherapy offer the opportunity to explore and understand how our past experiences may influence the present. I have completed four years of Transactional Analysis counselling and psychotherapy training and am currently working towards qualifying as an Integrative Psychotherapist accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). My counselling experience includes working within private practice and the voluntary sector.

I offer short, medium and long-term counselling to young people, adults and couples aged 18 and over. Sessions are available both in person and online. I am able to provide an inclusive, non judgmental and empathetic space where we can work together at a pace that feels right for you.

What is counselling and how can it help?

Counselling is a form of talking therapy where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace. Taking time to talk about how you feel, what you think and how you respond to life’s challenges can help you gain greater self-awareness, make sense of your experiences and feel more connected to yourself. Sessions offer time to reflect on what is happening in your life and explore the impact of past experiences. As your self-awareness grows, you can begin to identify what you may need to move towards greater wellbeing.

Transactional Analysis

Transactional analysis (TA) is a theory of personality, communication and social interactions.

TA’s philosophical beliefs are:

  • Everyone has the capacity to think and influence their life by the decisions they make.
  • We have capacity for change, people have choices and can decide their destiny.

TA can be used collaboratively with other therapy models such as:

  • Person – Centred
  • Gestalt
  • Humanistic
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
